The
Aldershot and District Lawn Tennis Association (ADLTA) has been in existence
since approximately 1948, and organises Summer and Winter Tennis Leagues for
Clubs situated within a 10 mile radius of
ADLTA
has a Committee of 9 Members, and holds it’s Annual General Meeting every
February at Avondale Tennis Club in Church Crookham, with its League Fixtures Meetings
in March and September every year at Wrecclesham Lawn Tennis Club.
There
are currently 32 Clubs (see Clubs link), who between
them throughout the year enter a total of 271 Senior teams and 94 Junior teams in
Men’s, Ladies’ and Mixed Doubles (see Leagues link). This makes it one of the largest local
leagues nationwide, so we have playing Guidelines.
The
Committee also runs a Postal Tournament (see Tournaments link) for adults every year starting
in May with the Finals’ Day at the Aldershot Tennis Club in September. There is also a one day Tournament for
Juniors held during June.
